Influenced by the din of the city and the rugged outdoors, I combine wheel thrown and hand built techniques to create functional and sculptural stoneware in Austin, Texas. I am fascinated by the endless puzzle-solving opportunities that clay offers which allows me to toy with classic methods without aiming for classic beauty. Working with clay feels like a collaboration between my hands and my subconscious; the result of which is full of texture, curves and sometimes a bit of surprise.
